Lynn Set to Face Snakes in Rubber Game

ST. LOUIS – The Cardinals will wrap up their final road trip ahead of the 2017 All-Star Break this afternoon, where they’ll send righty Lance Lynn to the mound hoping to earn a series victory over the D-backs at Chase Field (2:40 pm CT, FS-MW, KMOX).

Lynn has faired well in his career against Arizona, owning a 3-0 mark to go along with a 2.72 ERA. His two runs or less allowed through 10 starts on the season are good for fourth in the National League.

D-backs southpaw Patrick Corbin will head to the hill on Thursday afternoon trying to continue his strong pattern of home starts in the desert. At Chase Field this season, Corbin has a 3.19 ERA and owns a 5-2 record.

Chirp Notes:

  • Thursday will be the third and final meeting between the D-backs and Cardinals at Chase Field this season. The two teams will play a four game series at Busch Stadium at the end of July (27-30).
  • In his 13 career at bats against Lance Lynn, D-backs first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has never recorded an extra base hit. He enters Thursday with a .323 batting average and a 1.027 OPS on the year.
